Casablanca is not simply where I was born. It is a relationship-complex, ongoing.

The city moves in a constant Rwina, a beautiful Darija word that means chaos, disorder,noise, Fawda . Most people navigate it with their eyes down. I photograph it with mine wide open, looking for the moment when everything stills. A shadow that falls perfectly. A stranger who doesn't know they are extraordinary. A wall that has been watching the city longer than any of us.

My work is not documentary. It is not journalism. It is an attempt to find, inside the overwhelm of daily life, something that feels like calm. Something that feels like meaning.

I have been making this work since 2010. Casablanca is still not finished with me.
